Description:
ATK Aerospace Systems leads the industry in solid rocket propulsion systems, satellite components and subsystems, lightweight space deployables and solar arrays. We are constantly pushing the boundaries of our nation's capabilities in space.
ATK Space division is currently seeking a Program Manager II for its Beltsville, MD location to work in its Advanced Thermal Products group. This person will report to the Product Line Director and be responsible for coordination of all facets of program and requirements management of advanced thermal products consisting of Two Phase Thermal Systems. The primary role is to work closely with a multi-functional program team to oversee and coordinate all day-to-day actions from design to shipment of the product.
General responsibilities include:
- Program manage and lead a program team of engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance disciplines to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. Programs may consist of commercial or government programs, Internal Research and Development, and Internal Process Improvement Programs
- Ensure all customer requirements are satisfied
- Identify risk and perform risk management
- Proactively monitor and report cost, schedule, and technical issues
- Customer interface on programs
- Assist in preparation of quotations and lead proposal efforts
- Work with and Lead multi-disciplinary team to develop designs and/or lead problem solving tiger teams
- Supervision of the daily program specific activities
- Systems Engineering responsibilities such as interface control and requirements verification
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or related field, MS/MBA is preferred
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years program management experience preferred. Can be filled at 1 grade level lower.
- Earned Value Management Experience required
- Experience with program reporting required
- MS Office skills including Microsoft Project required
- Good problem solving skills; solid grasp of financial and accounting concepts
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to acquire a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance is required, which usually requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
- Experience in the spacecraft or aerospace industry programs preferred.
- Experience working in Thermal Systems programs preferred I.e. Experience or education with thermal analysis, heat transfer/fluid flow preferred.
